Macro Talk is an independent business news platform founded by journalist Hope King.

Our reporting focuses on decisions every leader is facing — around AI, demographic shifts, labor, geopolitics — and answers three essential questions:

  1. Where is the economy headed?
  2. What will jobs look like?
  3. How do I prepare?

If you're an ambitious executive or working professional anxious to understand the forces shaping the future, you're in the right place.

About Hope

Hope has lived both sides of the story. As a former Wall Street operator and as a journalist, she knows where business news can do more for workers and decision-makers. It’s why she left corporate media to found Macro Talk.

Prior to journalism, Hope was VP of business development and product for a $200 billion AUM investment platform at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, leading teams and initiatives that impacted thousands of clients. Hope also held Series 7 and 66 licenses.

Hope launched Macro Talk in 2025 after spending over a decade reporting on Big Tech, major public companies, and the economy for CNN, Axios, Business Insider, and Cheddar, where she was also an anchor on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.

Hope has interviewed hundreds of global newsmakers across business, technology, finance, and culture — JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Alibaba founder Jack Ma, NYSE president Lynn Martin, Nasdaq CEO Adena Friedman, “Shang-Chi” star Simu Liu, music artists will.i.am and Timbaland, and NBA superstar Steph Curry among them.
