Macro Talk is an independent business news outlet founded by journalist Hope King.
Macro Talk helps ambitious workers and leaders see the big picture and find opportunities in it — as forces like AI, demographics, labor, and geopolitics collide and shape the economy and future of work.
Through , events, partnerships, and digital content, Macro Talk answers three essential questions:
Our founder
Hope knows where business news can be more valuable for the workers and leaders who need it. She has lived on both sides of the story as a former Wall Street operator and journalist. It’s why she left corporate media to build Macro Talk.
Prior to journalism, Hope was VP of business development and product for a $200 billion AUM investment platform at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, leading company-wide teams and initiatives that served thousands of clients. Hope also held Series 7 and 66 licenses.
Hope launched Macro Talk in June 2025 after reporting on Big Tech, major public companies, markets, investing, and the economy for CNN, Axios, Business Insider, and Cheddar, where she was also a news anchor at the New York Stock Exchange and iconic Flatiron Building.
Over the past decade, Hope has interviewed hundreds of the most powerful people in business, technology, finance, and culture — JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Alibaba’s main founder Jack Ma, NYSE president Lynn Martin, Nasdaq CEO Adena Friedman, Disney’s “Shang-Chi” star Simu Liu, Grammy Award-winning artists will.i.am and Timbaland, and NBA superstar Steph Curry, among them.
